One of the most searched scenarios in Texas Hold'em theory is the classic 3-way preflop confrontation: A5s vs TT vs AKs. Why is this spot so highly debated?
In this dynamic, Pocket Tens (TT) is a slight mathematical favorite overall (~42% equity), but it runs into massive blockers. Ace-King Suited (AKs) blocks the A and K, and holds ~39% equity. The wildcard is Ace-Five Suited (A5s) (often an aggressive 5-bet bluff). Despite seeming far behind, A5s holds roughly ~18% equity because it draws to wheel straights (A-2-3-4-5) and the flush.

How Blockers Work in Multi-way Pots
In a 3-way all in, hands severely impact each other's odds simply by "blocking" outs. If you hold QQ against AK and A5s, the other players are blocking each other's Aces, making your Queens substantially more favored than in a vacuum.
Heads-Up (1v1)
Math is relatively straightforward. AKs vs QQ is roughly a coinflip (46% vs 54%). The EV is dictated purely by the dead money in the pot previously.
Multi-way (3+)
Equities collapse. A premium hand like Kings (KK) drops from an 82% favorite heads-up against A5s, down to a highly volatile spot when introduced to a third premium hand like QQ.
